Introduction

WealthCounsel was founded in 1997 by attorneys and has served estate planning and elder law practitioners for over 25 years. The company was acquired by LEAP Legal Software in December 2021 and now operates as part of LEAP's global legal practice management ecosystem. WealthCounsel hosts a nationwide collaborative of member attorneys focused on estate and wealth transfer planning.

The flagship product, Wealth Docx, is a cloud-based document drafting system that uses dynamic guided questions and scenario-based workflows to generate a wide range of estate planning instruments, including revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and business succession documents. Additional modules include Elder Docx for Medicaid and elder law documents, Business Docx for entity and succession planning, and Wealth Tracx for client asset and beneficiary tracking.

WealthCounsel integrates with practice management platforms including Clio, and through LEAP's ecosystem, connects document drafting with matter management, time tracking, and billing workflows. All documents are accessible via cloud with real-time collaboration across office staff.

WealthCounsel's combination of document drafting software, continuing legal education (CLE), and a peer attorney network provides a membership model that goes beyond software alone. For estate planning attorneys, this means access to updated document templates, legal education, and a community for practice development rather than a standalone drafting tool.
